My name is Nick, I’m from the UK and I’ve been a Star Wars fan since the original trilogy!
I’ve been an engineer for over 30 years and am now happy to spend some (a lot to be fair) of my time creating things of a unique nature for my customers to own and love. The reaction of a satisfied and happy customer is the reason I invest these hours - it’s the most important thing.
Working from a self contained workshop in Cheltenham, England, my style is to use acid etching to give contrast and tone to the metal whilst creating exciting images and depth - to me, this is what etching is about - using the metal and light to provide the art. You won’t see huge amounts of colour added to my designs although there’s always a place for accents and stylised backgrounds where necessary.
Bringing my designs to life is a great feeling so I also offer an installation service for sabers that I have customised.
I am always willing to chat with potential customers about their requirements
Full acid etching saber hilts and shrouds - images, text, characters, patterns - high detail and accuracy is my speciality
Subtle yet effective methods of adding an aged look to sabers to provide a more 'battle used' look using acid patinas, durable paint and weathering pigments
Stitched or wrapped grips can be added to areas that aren't being etched. High quality baseball stitching is my speciality
Custom shrouds can be added to suitable hilts - we can make these in house to suit a commission design. Blank shrouds for popular hilts are also kept in stock for etching mini commissions
Bringing custom sabers alive is an important part of the commission process. We are one of the only saber etchers that also offer a full in house installation service
